What is Ijāzah & Sanad?
An Ijāzah is the permission given by a teacher to their student allowing them to teach and then pass their Sanad on.
A Sanad is a continuous chain of narration of teacher to student going all the way back to the author of a book/poem or the person who said a particular statement. When it comes to Qur’an, we also include angel Jibreel (as) as the Qur’an is the word of Allah!

Qari Armaan also went on to study and obtain Ijāzah from Shaykh Uthman Khan in ‘Asharā Kubrā (the 10 Qirā’āt according to all Turuq/schools of thought).
